Assessment Centre FAQS

How long does the Assessment Centre last?

Your assessment centre will consist of a morning session (09:30 – 12:15) where you will take part in a group and individual exercise. There will also be an opportunity to get to know us a little more with some presentations from our Early Careers and business area teams. This will be followed by a one hour virtual interview with one of our project team members, at either 13:00, 14:00 or 15:00 on the same afternoon.

Who will I be meeting at the assessment centre?

The day will be hosted by one of our Early Careers Team and you will also be meeting at least one member from the our business areas too.

Will I need to have a follow up interview?

Our standard process is to make a decision on whether to offer based on the assessment centre alone. However there are some occasions when a specific area of the business may be interested in having a follow up interview with you. One of our Early Careers team will be talk this through with you if this is the case.

What if I can no longer attend?

If you are unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible. Our interviewers are members of the business who will book time from their day to meet you and we would like to let them know as soon as possible if you won’t be able to join.

What should I do if I have trouble joining the virtual assessment centre?

We recommend joining as early as you can in case of technical issues but if you do have problems please reach out to the Early Careers team on the phone number provided and they will assist.

Will CGI make adjustments to the process for me?

We work with a company called Clear Talents which is designed to make our process as accessible and fair as possible. You should have received an email link to create a profile so we can make reasonable adjustments to our exercises for you if required.

What should I wear?

Whilst it is a virtual assessment centre we still recommend dressing in smart business wear as you would for any interview as it will create the right impression for your interviewer.

When will I hear back from you?

We aim to get in touch within 10 working days following your assessment centre to advise the outcome.

Will I get feedback on my performance?

We have a 100% feedback policy on request for all candidates who attend an assessment centre. Please note however that you do need to request this from us.

What do I need to have with me on the day?

There is no other equipment required for the assessment centre other than the device you are using to access the session.  However some candidates like to have water, your CV and pen/paper to hand.
