London Key Clients and Business Overview

The London Business Unit (BU) is led by Neil Sadler with a focus on driving profitable growth through:

  • Existing Banking and Financial Markets managed by Andy Nelson, Vice President Consulting Services (VPCS)
  • Insurance Sector managed by Juliette Lockstone (VPCS)
  • Established large volume clients – Daimler Mobility managed by James Maxwell (VPCS) and HSBC, managed by David York (VPCS).

Additionally, the BU will be looking to develop new business with non-financial services sector clients managed by James Maxwell (VPCS) in the Greater London Metro area.

Despite the name, CGI members who work in the London BU aren’t just based in the capital city! Members work across our London, Chelmsford, Milton Keynes, Bristol and Bridgend offices.

Some example Case Studies/Clients include:


PPL is the primary (new business) placing platform used by the London Market which is a £40bn annual £gwp sector . It’s strategically critical and offers huge market exposure for CGI. We’ve been engaged to build the platform and are currently in tender for the AMS (Run Service) 5-year deal.


Polaris is an insurer and broker owned body that’s dedicated to setting the standard for the UK general insurance industry. They develop e-trading standards that are used market-wide – by insurers, brokers and software houses. They also provide the products and services that support the implementation of these standards – ProductWriter Suite and imarket. CGI and Polaris have enjoyed a partnership of over 25 years with CGI being the delivery service partner of Polaris, providing service desk, rating and product services and standards management.


LV= is a long standing client of over 20 years who uses a CGI IP product called GIOS for Insurance policy administration, claims, accounting and distribution management. CGI also provides a managed service around the project, other managed services and staff augmentation.


CGI has a long standing relationship with Schroders and we have been delivering various services over the last 10 years. Currently we have over 70 members globally, delivering services from Singapore to Halifax. These services are mainly to support their Production Control functions globally such as maintaining their test environments, design and controlling the production access, information security audit of the provided access and release control. In addition to Production Control services, we also have Application Support & Development teams focusing on Corporate Apps and Group Data Technology.

Deutsche Bank (DB)

DB is a global client of CGI served by a number of our Strategic Business Units (SBUs) across the globe. CGI UK delivers a number of services to DB and we have over 40 members globally delivering these services. Additionally, DB is one of the key users of our Hotscan IP, supported by our Hotscan team in the Czech Republic. Our main services cover the support of DB’s Trading platform, Access Management, Unstructured Data and Payments Consultancy.


The HSBC project manages the implementation of CGI’s Trade 360 Platform to the largest worldwide trade bank HSBC. The programme provides bespoke software design, development and testing to the already deployed Trade 360 solution.

The solution is deployed by HSBC in their own environment supported by CGI who provide implementation and live support for functionality already rolled out in Hong Kong. Worldwide rollout of HSBC’s Trade 360 bespoke solution follows this year and next, supported by CGI for both bespoke development, implementation and further live support.

Daimler Mobility

Daimler Mobility (formerly Daimler Financial Services) is CGI’s full IT outsourcing engagement that has been running since 2008. CGI is responsible for the full end to end IT needs for Daimler Mobility’s major European markets such as the UK, France, Italy, Spain and part of the German systems. CGI hosts Daimler Mobility’s financial services applications such as their contract management system, accounting system, collections systems and front end portals. We use CGI IP such as AFS360 and CACS for providing the functionality on asset contract management and collections. All these applications are hosted within CGI Datacentres in Wales and we provide a full managed service that covers applications, infrastructure and a full suite of ITIL service management functions.

CGI also undertakes change projects to enhance and update the functionality of all these applications.  The outsourcing deal is delivered by CGI teams based out of a diverse range of locations including the UK, India and Portugal.
